Your website should naturally meet the needs and reflect the image of your business or organisation -
it should also give its users what they're looking for in the shortest possible time. Web design is therefore a combination of various
skills - technical knowledge, graphic design, 'usability', marketing & copywriting.
We like to think we successfully combine these skills to make easy to use, stylish websites that work for our clients, whatever their size. Here's a bit more info
on what we can do, so if you think we could be of service, please get in touch.
- Content Management - If you intend your website to be updated on a regular basis, you'll probably need a Content Management
System - a database-driven 'back-end' admin area where you or your staff can update information, images, prices etc. via an easy-to-use online control panel.
- Corporate image & design for print - Your logo and other corporate image elements are the starting point for any web
design, but if you don't have these yet, or you're looking for a revamp, we can help - from one-off flyers to a full corporate package,
from initial concept to print.
- e-commerce - Accept payments online via integration with a range of secure payment gateways.
- Online promotion - Having a great website doesn't automatically mean lots of people will use it. You have to drive people to it, and there
are a number of methods.
Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) - Essentially a set of techniques designed to give your site the best chance of achieving a good
ranking in search engine results (Google, Yahoo, Bing etc.). The way your site is designed makes a big difference,
and that's included in the price, as is submitting your site to the leading engines. Beyond that, the most important factor is the number of other websites that link to yours,
so we can spend some time researching potential links such as local and trade web directories. And this is isn't just important for search engines -
the more links you have to your site, the better chance you have of people finding it.
Advertising - if your budget extends to advertising, depending on what you do there are a number of ways we could go,
from Google AdWords to YouTube videos...
- Accessibility - As with physical buildings, a website should make every effort to be accessible to all users. This can mean
taking into account people with specific disablilties (such as those who use screen readers), to simply making it as easy as possible for an inexperienced web user to
find their way around. All our sites are designed with reference to the standards defined by the World Wide Web Consortium.
- Domain Name / hosting & e-mail addresses - If you haven't bought your domain name yet (i.e. www.yourbusiness.com),
we can buy & administer it for you via our own registrar. We can provide hosting for your site at a secure datacentre, and our hosting service
can provide as many e-mail addresses as you need, site visitor statistics, and an optional webmail facility for online access anywhere in the world.
- Audio / video / animation - Whether you're a band who needs a full-on Flash experience, audio or video,
or you just want a bit of extra impact on your home page...
- Photography & image sourcing - If you don't have the images you need, we'll take care of it.
